The Excellent Habit of Clearing Your Energy
Recently, it feels like we have been bombarded by a powerful array of energies - from the New Moon, solar flares, Scorpio season, and even world events. Each of us is unique, and these energies can affect us in various ways, often leaving us feeling weighed down, distracted, drained and even feeling disconnected with our surroundings. We carry this (and much more) in our energy field, our aura.

Imagine your energy field as a big, radiant bubble surrounding you, much like a sponge. It absorbs emotions, thoughts and sensations from the energies around you, and over time, this 'energetic clutter' can build up, feeling like extra weight. Regularly cleansing our energy allows us to release what no longer serves us, return to balance and make space for positivity and clarity. A clean energy field helps us align more deeply with our purpose, strengthens our resilience to negativity and tunes us in to our intuition.

Here are some of my favorite ways to clear my energy:
  • Crystals like Selenite, Blue Kyanite, and Smoky Quartz are highly effective at absorbing and transmuting negative energy. Wearing Smoky Quartz will transmute negative energy in your aura, while holding or placing Selenite and Kyanite around you can draw out any unwanted energies. You can also place Selenite in spaces where you spend time - in your home, office, bedroom and even your car - to maintain a clear atmosphere.
  • ​Sound has a profound impact on our energy field. Think about how fantastic you feel after going to a concert by one of your favorite artists! Using tools like singing bowls or tuning forks near your aura can help release stagnant energy. Listening to any music you love can help shift your energy, and if you're inclined, dancing or moving to the music can amplify the effect. 
  • ​Grounding reconnects us to the earth, releasing energy we no longer need. Stand barefoot on the earth, sit on the grass or visualize roots extending from your feet into the ground. Regular, intentional grounding can create a strong foundation for emotional resilience and energetic health.
  • Salt Baths & Showers harness the power of salt's purifying qualities. A bath or shower with Epsom salt draws out any lingering heaviness, leaving your aura refreshed. Afterward, you'll feel calm, balanced and positive - your energy field sparklimg. If you're wondering how to incorporate this into your daily shower routine, here's a link to the instructions.
  • ​Smudging is known for clearing spaces, and you can smudge yourself or objects too. Palo santo, lavender, cedar and sage are popular choices. Light your smudging tool, and gently guide the smoke around your body, from head to feet. As the smoke flows through your aura, set an intention that any negativity or anything no longer serving you attaches to the smoke and is released. If you prefer not to use smoke, sage and lavender sprays are effective alternatives.
  • ​Rose Water is my favorite! Rose (and Rose Quartz) hold a high vibration of love and positivity. If you can find Rose Water locally, put it in a spritz bottle, and spray around your body, starting at your head. If rose water isn't available, make rose tea by steeping rose leaves or buds, then use this infusion as a spray. Rose water instantly lifts your mood, and surrounds you with peace and balance clearing anything unnecessary from your energy field. 
After using any of these techniques, you'll feel lighter, more peaceful, centered, balanced and deeply grounded. Clearing your energy is a beautiful act of self-love and self-care that connects to your authentic self and builds resilience to external stressors.
