Unlocking the Clairs

Understanding Your Intuitive Senses

Unlocking the Clairs
Have you ever had a gut feeling about something that turned out to be true? Or maybe a song randomly popped into your head, only for you to hear it play later that day? These subtle experiences are examples of your intuitive senses at work—what many call "The Clairs."

The Clairs are different ways we receive intuitive information, much like our five physical senses. While psychics and mediums often develop these abilities to a high level, the truth is, we all have them! Just as some people are naturally gifted singers while others hum in the shower, everyone has access to their intuitive senses, and with practice, they can be strengthened.

The Four Main Clairs
  • Clairvoyance (Clear Seeing): This is the ability to receive intuitive information through visual images. It might appear as symbols, colors, pictures or even full visions like movies in your mind’s eye. Have you ever visualized a friend calling before your phone rang? That’s clairvoyance at play!
  • Clairaudience (Clear Hearing): This is when you receive guidance through sounds, words, or music. It can be an inner voice that gives you an idea or an actual sound you hear externally. Ever had a song lyric suddenly come to you with a message that fit your situation perfectly? That’s clairaudience in action.
  • Clairsentience (Clear Feeling): The most common intuitive sense, clairsentience is the ability to feel or sense energy. You might get chills when something feels right or feel uneasy when something is off. It also includes picking up on other people’s emotions—often before they say a word, and recognizing "gut feelings".
  • Claircognizance (Clear Knowing): This is an instant "knowing" without any logical explanation. You might get an unshakable feeling about a decision or just "know" the answer to something without any prior knowledge. Claircognizance often comes in sudden flashes of insight or ideas that feel divinely inspired.

Other Clairs to Explore

While the four main Clairs are the most widely recognized, there are additional ways we receive intuitive information:
  • Clairolfactance (Clear Smelling): Smelling scents that are not physically present, like a loved one's perfume, the scent of roses, foods, or even cigar smoke.
  • Clairgustance (Clear Tasting): Tasting flavors without eating anything, which can include foods and tastes such as metallic or cigarettes.
  • Clairtangency (Clear Touching): Also called psychometry, this is the ability to receive information by touching objects or people.

How We Use the Clairs in Everyday Life

You don’t have to be a professional psychic to use your Clairs—they naturally guide you every day. Here are some ways they show up:
  • Clairvoyance: You visualize your day ahead and see something unfolding before it happens.
  • Clairaudience: You hear an inner voice telling you to take a different route home, only to avoid an accident.
  • Clairsentience: You walk into a room and instantly pick up on the mood, knowing if there was just an argument or celebration.
  • Claircognizance: You get a sudden idea for a creative project or business decision that turns out to be exactly what you needed.
  • Clairolfactance: You get a sudden scent that will seem familiar later on in the day when you meet a person or go to a specific place.
  • Clairgustance: You have a sensation of a particular taste, and later on that evening you are at an event where you experience the same taste from the food.
  • Clairtangency: You touch a ring a friend has given you to look at, and get information about their mood.

Discovering Your Strongest Clair

Everyone has access to all the Clairs, but most people have a dominant one, with a secondary Clair that supports it. If you’re a deeply empathetic person, clairsentience may be your strongest. If you receive insights in visual flashes, clairvoyance might be your primary gift. Pay attention to how you naturally pick up information—this can help you identify your strongest Clair.

Strengthening Your Intuition

Like a muscle, intuition strengthens with practice. Here are some ways to develop your Clairs:
  • Meditation: Quiet your mind to become more aware of the subtle messages you receive.
  • Journaling: Write down any intuitive hits you get and look for patterns.
  • Trusting Your Gut: Start listening to your inner nudges without dismissing them.
  • Ask Your Guides: Ask your Guides for assistance in developing a specific Clair. Stick to one for a while, and use the above three methods (meditation, journalling and trusting your gut) to further your progress. Ask your Guides to use different methods to teach you with meaningful items related to the specific Clair (such as seeing your favorite color red, smelling your grandmother's favorite flower, hearing your favorite phrase or lyric, tasting and smelling your favorite food, etc).

Embracing Your Intuitive Senses

The Clairs are not just reserved for psychics or mediums; they are natural abilities that everyone possesses. By recognizing and strengthening them, you can enhance your intuition, make better decisions, and navigate life with greater trust in yourself.

So, which Clair do you resonate with most? Pay attention to how you naturally receive information—you may be more intuitive than you think!
